How to Configure Remote Database Access in cPanel Print

When enabled, Remote Database Access allows specified remote hosts to connect to MySQL or MariaDB databases on the cPanel account.

  1. Open cPanel → Databases → Remote Database Access.
  2. Enter the remote hostname, IPv4 address, or IPv6 address.
  3. Add an optional description.
  4. Click Add Host.

cPanel supports the percent sign as a wildcard in allowed hosts, but broad wildcards increase exposure. Allow only the specific remote systems that require access whenever possible. Removing an access host revokes that host-level allowance but does not delete the database or database user.
