Current cPanel documentation recommends Database Wizard for creating the first database and database user.
- Open cPanel → Databases → Database Wizard.
- Create the database.
- Create a database user with a strong password.
- Assign the user to the database.
- Select the privileges required by the application.
- Finish the wizard and record the full database/user names.
Use the least privileges that meet the application's requirements. Many common web applications require all privileges for their dedicated application database, but a custom application may need less.
