Removing a domain from cPanel does not cancel or delete the domain registration at the registrar.
These are separate systems:
- Registrar — controls the registered domain name, renewal, registrant data, nameservers, and related registration functions.
- cPanel Domains — controls how that domain is configured on the hosting account.
Removing a domain from cPanel removes its local hosting/DNS configuration as documented by cPanel, but the registered name remains registered until it expires, is transferred, or is otherwise changed through the registrar.
Likewise, simply adding a domain in cPanel does not register that domain.
