Your registrar is the company responsible for the domain registration. You may need to identify it when changing nameservers, renewing a domain, or managing DNSSEC DS records.
Use registration lookup data
- Use an ICANN lookup/RDAP service or another reputable domain-registration lookup tool.
- Enter the domain name.
- Look for the Registrar field.
Privacy services can hide registrant contact information, but the registrar itself is normally still identified.
Registrar is not always the DNS provider
A domain can be registered with one company while its authoritative nameservers and DNS records are hosted somewhere else. Check the domain's current nameservers before deciding where a DNS change must be made.
