cPanel separates domain management from DNS record management. Use cPanel → Domains → Domains to add and manage domains, subdomains, document roots, and HTTPS redirects. Use cPanel → Domains → Zone Editor to create, edit, and delete DNS records.
Common tools
- Domains — add registered or temporary domains and manage existing domains.
- Zone Editor — manage DNS zone records such as A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, CAA, HTTPS, and SVCB.
- Redirects — create permanent or temporary URL redirects.
- Dynamic DNS — map a cPanel-hosted hostname to an external network whose IP address changes, when the feature is enabled.
- DNSSEC — manage DNSSEC keys for eligible domains when supported by the server and domain registrar.
Domain registration itself is separate from cPanel. Registering, renewing, transferring, or changing the authoritative nameservers for a domain is normally performed through the domain registrar.
