Use the current unified Domains interface to add a domain that you already own.

  1. Open cPanel → Domains → Domains.
  2. Click Create a New Domain.
  3. Select Registered Domain.
  4. Enter the full domain name.
  5. Decide whether the domain should share the existing document root or use its own document root.
  6. If using a separate document root, deselect the sharing option and review the directory cPanel proposes.
  7. Click Submit.

For a separate website, use a separate document root. Sharing the document root makes both domains serve the same website and cPanel treats that choice as permanent for that domain relationship.

Adding the domain to cPanel does not automatically change its registrar nameservers. Public visitors will reach the new cPanel site only after the domain's authoritative DNS points to the appropriate hosting environment.
