- Open cPanel → Domains → WP Toolkit.
- Find the website and open Autoupdate settings.
- Review the WordPress core update policy.
- Review plugin and theme automatic-update settings.
- Save the configuration.
For WordPress core, available choices can include no automatic updates, minor/security updates, or both minor and major updates. The exact options shown can vary by WP Toolkit version.
Choosing an update strategy
Automatic updates help reduce the time that known security issues remain unpatched, but updates can occasionally introduce compatibility problems. Production sites that depend on ecommerce, memberships, booking systems, page builders, or custom code benefit from current backups and post-update testing.
