WP Toolkit can install, activate, update, and remove WordPress themes.

  1. Open cPanel → Domains → WP Toolkit.
  2. Find the website and open the Themes tab.
  3. Choose Install to search for a theme or upload a theme package when available.
  4. Activate the theme you want WordPress to use.
  5. Install available theme updates as needed.

A newly installed theme is not necessarily activated automatically. WordPress can have several installed themes, but only one can be active at a time.

Before updating a theme

If custom changes were made directly to the active theme files, an update can overwrite those changes. Customizations should generally be placed in a child theme or another update-safe location.

You cannot remove the active theme. Activate another theme first, then remove the unused one. Keeping one known-good default WordPress theme installed can also be useful during troubleshooting.
