When the feature is enabled for your account, cPanel's Archive interface can retain copies of incoming, outgoing, and mailing-list messages for selected domains.

Feature availability: Email Archiving appears only when it is enabled on the server and in the cPanel feature list.

Enable or change archiving

  1. Open cPanel → Email → Archive.
  2. Locate the domain you want to manage.
  3. Select which message types should be archived: incoming, outgoing, and/or mailing-list mail.
  4. Select the retention period offered by the interface.
  5. Save the configuration.

Archiving begins after the feature is enabled. It does not retroactively archive messages that arrived before archiving was turned on.

View or download archived mail

cPanel can provide Webmail access, read-only IMAP settings, and downloadable archive files for the selected domain. Archive directory dates use GMT.

Watch disk usage. Archived messages consume hosting-account storage, and longer retention periods can use substantial space. Review archive storage periodically and remove old archived data that is no longer required.
