The cPanel Default Address determines what happens to mail sent to invalid or nonexistent addresses on a domain.
- Open cPanel → Email → Default Address.
- Select the domain.
- Choose how unrouted mail should be handled.
- Save the change.
Common choices
- Reject invalid recipients during SMTP with an error message.
- Forward unrouted mail to a chosen address.
- Use advanced options only when you understand the effect.
Catch-all warning: Forwarding every invalid address can attract large amounts of spam when a domain is targeted with guessed recipient names. A default address is not the same as the cPanel system email account.
