A cPanel API token can be created with no expiration or with a specific expiration date. Current cPanel documentation notes that the expiration date cannot be edited after creation.
When a token expires, cPanel does not automatically delete the token record. Remove expired tokens from the API Tokens table so the list accurately reflects active integrations.
For long-lived automation, record the intended expiration date and rotate the token before it causes an unexpected service interruption.
