Directory Privacy adds web authentication to a selected directory. Visitors who request protected content through the website must provide a configured username and password.
cPanel implements this protection through .htaccess and .htpasswd configuration. Protection applies to web access; it does not prevent access through FTP, SFTP, Web Disk, or local filesystem access by an authorized account.
Protected subdirectories inherit protection from their parent directory.
