A backup stored only inside the same hosting account is convenient, but it is not an independent copy.
After generating an important manual backup, download it to a separate trusted storage location. This protects against situations where the hosting account itself becomes inaccessible or its storage is damaged.
For sensitive archives, protect the storage location because cPanel backups can contain website data, email data, database content, SSL keys, and other account information.
