Manual cPanel Backups vs. Server-Scheduled Backups Print

A manual backup is created because you deliberately start it. A server-scheduled backup is created according to the server's backup configuration.

Scheduled backups can be convenient, but their frequency, retention, destination, and account eligibility are server-defined. A manual backup is useful before a known change because you control the timing.

For important maintenance, keep a manually verified copy even when scheduled backups are available. The two methods complement each other rather than replacing one another.
