Current cPanel documentation states that the File and Directory Restoration interface restores from local backup sources.
If the server stores a desired backup only at a remote backup destination, that copy must first be available locally to the server before this cPanel interface can use it.
This is one reason the available dates in File and Directory Restoration may differ from other server backup records. Treat the dates actually shown in the interface as the recovery points currently available to that tool.
