cPanel's File and Directory Restoration can recover deleted files and can also overwrite files that currently exist.
This is important when restoring an older directory. A successful restore is not automatically the same as a correct restore: newer live content can be replaced by an older backup version.
Before restoring, compare the backup date with the date of the incident and preserve any current file that may contain newer work. After restoration, test the website rather than assuming all related files were restored to a compatible state.
