How to Delete a DNS Record Safely Print

Deleting a DNS record immediately removes it from the zone data on the server, although cached copies can remain visible elsewhere until their TTL expires.

  1. Open Zone Editor.
  2. Click Manage for the domain.
  3. Locate the exact record.
  4. Click Delete.
  5. Review the record and click Continue to confirm.

Before deleting a record, identify what uses it. Removing A/AAAA records can take a website offline, MX records can interrupt email delivery, and TXT/SRV/CAA records can affect verification, applications, or certificate issuance.
