cPanel's Encryption interface can create and manage GnuPG keys for public-key encryption workflows.
Public and private keys
A sender can encrypt data using a recipient's public key. The corresponding private key is required to decrypt it.
Create a key
- Open cPanel → Email → Encryption.
- Enter the requested identity information.
- Use a strong passphrase.
- Choose an appropriate expiration date.
- Generate the key.
Protect private keys. A private key and its passphrase should be treated as sensitive credentials. Do not publish or casually share the private key.
GnuPG support in cPanel does not mean every email application automatically encrypts messages; the mail client or workflow must support and use the key.
