How to Use Terminal in cPanel Print

When shell access and the feature are enabled, cPanel → Advanced → Terminal provides an in-browser command-line session.

Before first use, cPanel displays a warning that must be accepted. Commands run with the permissions of the cPanel account, not as the server's root user.

Command-line changes can bypass the safeguards of graphical interfaces. Verify commands before running them, avoid copying unknown shell commands from untrusted sources, and keep recoverable copies before bulk file operations.

Closing the cPanel session also closes associated Terminal sessions after a short period.
