A Home Directory backup is a partial backup of data under the cPanel account's home directory.
- Open cPanel → Files → Backup or Backup Wizard.
- Choose the partial-backup option.
- Select Home Directory.
- Download the generated archive to your computer.
A Home Directory backup is useful when you primarily need account files and mail data rather than a full server-restorable account package. Because it can be restored through cPanel, it is also easier to use for certain self-service recovery tasks than a full account backup.
