AutoSSL failures are usually more useful when treated as validation errors rather than generic SSL errors.

  1. Open SSL/TLS Status and read the error shown for the hostname.
  2. Verify the domain and any required subdomain resolve correctly.
  3. Check whether the hostname is still intended to be hosted on this account.
  4. Review CAA records and other DNS restrictions.
  5. Confirm the domain is not using an invalid or stale configuration.
  6. After correcting the cause, run AutoSSL again if the control is available.

Avoid deleting unrelated private keys or certificates while troubleshooting a DCV problem.
