To exclude selected home-directory paths from supported full-account backup processes, create cpbackup-exclude.conf in the cPanel account's home directory.
List each relative file or directory path on its own line. Do not begin entries with a leading slash. A directory entry excludes the contents of that directory from the affected backup process.
Example:
cache staging/tmp logs/archive.log
After changing exclusions, create a test backup and inspect it before relying on the configuration for long-term recovery.
